Well folks I came and went. I was on R n R for a while (well 2 weeks) it was pretty nice. I got to spend time with my family. It was really nice to see them my boy got so big and my daughters even more beautiful than I remembered. We hung out and went to some theme parks and had a pretty good time. It was pretty weird being home.
I flew from Iraq to Kuwait then to Germany then to Atlanta. In Atlanta you walk up the stairs to the main terminal to catch your connecting flight to where ever your going. As I was walking up the steps the main terminal came into view and it was like a mall. It was so weird just people walking around like...... well like normal.. It was just a strange feeling. Meanwhile my brothers in arms and myself are wondering through the airport looking for our connecting gates to take us all the way home. We are in our desert camelflage uniforms mind you. Some people would stare and quickly look away other people just didn't pay any attention to us. Some folks walked up and shook my hand and said thank you. I walked to my gate and sat down. Nobody talked to me. Which is fine, but just a little weird I guess. All I could think about is how life goes on. Then a guy I recognized from the flight over sat down next to me. We bullshitted until it was time to bored the plane, a United flight no less. I sat towards the front and he sat towards the back. So I had no company for the last leg of the trip. I did sit and watch them give up 2 1st Class seats to 2 civilian women. That was nice. Can't complain to much cuz I did sit 1st class on the way back... The gas prices tripped me out a bit... Guess they can pin as high as they want and as the gas guzzling Americans we are we will pay that shit.... It will get upto like 5 then down to 3 and we will call it cheap... But anywho man I had a great time at home. Then as quick as it began it was over and it was time to bored the damned plane back... I was stuck in Kuwait for a couple of days which led to some ripe uniforms. I got back here and I start reading articles in the paper on how the politicians have outlawed the pledge of allegiance and how kids can't celebrate Christmas and how its just happy holidays. wow that shit really pisses me off. I swore to protect this country from all enemies foreign and domestic and I'm out here fighting a war on terror but back home its the American people who are slowly but surely stripping other Americans of civil liberties.. WTF over? Wow.... Crazy just crazy...
